RSM Restaurant in Tagaytay

August 26, 2013 Monday, Tagaytay

We seldom go to a Filipino restaurant except when craving for bulalo and tawilis. But for Edmund’s birthday lunch, we opted for Filipino food. There’s no preference as to restaurant, we just drove to the cluster by the ridge where Dencio’s, Gerry’s Grill, Leslie’s and Josephine’s are located.

I saw RSM Seafood Restaurant and Edmund said “masarap daw dyan”. “Oh dyan na lang”.

RSM stands for the owners’ names. Spouses Rolly, Silvina Marquez, originally from Binan, Laguna. They have a house too in Tagaytay.

It was 2 pm and there were still lots of people but we managed to get a table at a nice spot. They were putting us inside where it’s dark and gloomy. After some pakiusap, they gave us a table by the ridge, overlooking the Taal Lake and nearby mountains.

It was drizzling when we arrived. Then rained heavily after we settled down. Then stopped, drizzled, heavy rain again. We were in a quandary whether to transfer inside or stay. We stayed despite the rain and anggi.

My son tackled the buko (coconut)even before our food arrived.
Buko

Anak, awat na.

When the waiter repeated our orders,  he said “isang Tagalog Bulalo”.
Meron bang Ilokano na Bulalo?

060

Oyen ordered Bangus Belly Salpicao. She didn’t finish this, I gave the rest to the driver.

Oyen ordered garlic rice, 4 steamed rice for Edmund, Nyke, and I. Sobra ng isa. I didn’t notice who ate it.

Nyke ordered Kinilaw na Tangigue. Edmund ordered Dinuguan.
Dati sa Binangonan pag bisperas ng fiesta, ang mga tao busy pag luto ng lechon. pag gabi na, meron silang dinuguan, a by-product of lechon. I never dared taste it even when there were times my mom would force me.
But when Edmund became my boyfriend, the very first time he brought me to their place in Catmon, Malabon, ang ulam nila Dinuguan. Yun lang, wala ng iba. Syempre I couldn’t complain or say “eh excuse me do you have any other ulam?” Baka sabihin maarte ako, kaya buntong hininga, sabay subo at nilunok ko na.
Abah, masarap pala.

Tuna belly for me.
096

Edmund ordered fried hito and manggang hilaw at alamang.
062

I ate one fourth of the banana, Oyen and Nyke ate the rest.

Mas mura ito kesa kagabi. I charged it to my credit card, kasi there’s a promo for every P2,000 single receipt, I could win 1,000,000 Mabuhay Miles.
Edmund said “..asa ka pa!”

I was too blue yesterday. Today I am too pink. The pink umbrella belongs to the restaurant.

As if any one is interested to know—-  I bought the pink pants from Zara, Lincoln Center in Manhattan $59.99 minus discount = $29.99,  the pink cardigan is from Bossini , near the Excelsior Hotel in Causeway Bay, HK$150.   The white cotton blouse is from Ross,  $14.99+ tax.  My sandals are from Macy’s,  Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton tila $39.99 or $45.99+ tax.   My bra is new from Target in Lonetree Way, Antioch, $3.99 + tax.  My jungle panty, as usual, is from Costco  $12.99 for 3 pieces/pack.   The price keeps going up.  It used to be $7.99 only.
