There are two sorbetero that come to our village regularly.
The pioneer one is Rudy, who’s been here since 1986. I still remember when my kids were only 10 and 15 respectively, we took a liking to his ube sorbetes. I would buy not in cones, but in containers.

I haven’t chanced upon him for years. I saw him the other day at the park.

He was banned pala by a neighbor, R. Young, to come sell in that street.
Rudy was thinking maybe because Mr. Young’s family used to sell Fruits in Ice Cream. But while Mr. Young’s car was pulling up, Rudy had the guts to ask him “Sir, bakit ho?” Hayun, nainis siguro si Mr. Young. He asked the admin office to ban him in the whole village.

Ngayon, medyo pwede na daw uli but he cannot wander in Mr. Young’s street.
he pays P1,500 per half container plus P300 for ice. If he finishes that in a day, he would go home happy. But sometimes, matumal daw, inaabot ng two days. He needs to buy more ice.
I asked him how come his cart doesn’t have handpainting. Mahal daw kasi with handpaint. P30,000. His cart is attached to a bike. The other sorbeteros cart is attached to a motorcycle.

I ordered half a gallon mango with extra mangoes but less sugar. I gave him P250 and asked him to just deliver to our house anytime it’s ready.

The next day, when I got home, the sorbetes was in our freezer.

This is a bad idea. I am over eating ice cream.
