Panorama, Senatoriables

Who is Ricardo “Dick” Penson?

Dick is a businessman.  He’s the President and CEO of Ausphil Tollways Corporation.   He launched in 2012 the Krusada Kontra Dynasty movement which is his advocacy.  He is from San Beda College, University of Cincinnati and has a masters degree at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Dick is a friend of ours.    We were always travelling together as members of  the  business delegation  during the time of President Fidel V. Ramos.

He’s  kenkoy and cowboy also.

One time while in Moscow,  the two of us were left behind at the lobby of the hotel.  Our colleagues had left in a shuttle.   We hailed a hotel taxi. We didn’t exactly know where they were going but we just made hula and asked the driver to follow the bus.   They were brought pala to the Red Square.

In Singapore naman,  there was a state dinner but Dick and I were not in the guest list.   Kanya kanya kaming labas.  While I was queueing up for Hainan Chicken Rice at a fast food adjacent to the hotel,  Dick was also there not far behind.  The two of us ended up sharing a table and it was the first time that Dick and I had a serious conversation.  Kasi when we’re in a group puro biruan at buskahan.   He’s such a gentleman and he has  a soft heart.

In Vienna,  while waiting for our shuttle to the airport,  he, Tonyboy, and I stayed  at the hotel lobby.  Dick ordered a juice or softdrinks.   While we were on board the plane, just  about to take-off,   he realized he lost his wallet.    Yun pala, the hotel gave it to the Philippine embassy staff.   Dick left his wallet after he paid for the drinks.  Buti na lang naihabol sa plane.

We had a short stop-over in Bangkok.  We got off the plane and roamed around the duty free shop.

When we were already on board on our way to Manila,  naku, nawawala naman ang passport ni Dick.  He bought something from the duty free shop, naiwan ang passport nya.    Hindi na naihabol because we were already flying.  The embassy sent it the next day.    We were teasing him na absent minded sya because of Dina Bonnevie.
