As soon as I confirmed with Jeannie Javelosa that I would drop by the Great Women store in Chemphil Building, Pasay Road, Makati on their opening day, I already conditioned my mind that I would buy something in support of Great Women advocacy which is social entrepreneurship, women empowerment and to support small communities in the country.

The quality and design are impressive.

I was prepared to shop. I spent a lot of time trying on clothes.
They only have one indigo blue jusi sleeveless dress and it’s in size large. I took it anyway although it’s loose. I need a camisole because it’s see through.
I got this too, a handwoven blouse called hablon made in Iloilo, for the love of my husband’s hometown. There’s a good chance that I will get to wear this only once or twice max. Sleeveless kasi eh ang taba-taba ng ng braso ko ngayon. Kailangan muna magdiet.
And this too, a gray straight dress with red embroidery at the back. pwedeng pang Chinese New Year.
They also have a cafe and goodies store.
I bought mango marmalade from Guimaras, aligue, and a straw bag (P850).
The squid rings are P340/pack, basket is P850 (only two pieces left, different colors). I don’t remember how much the marmalade and aligue are.
Did I hide these shopping bags from Edmund when I got home like Astrid in Crazy Rich Asians? I did not hide them but since he wasn’t home yet, he didn’t see what I shopped from the Great Women store. He saw the mango marmalade and aligue on the table.
I spent quite a bit of money shopping at the Great Women store. It was for a good cause and in support of my friends Jeannie, Chit and Reena’s social entrepreneurship and advocacy. This is great women power. And credit card power.
My daughter asked me how much I paid for the dresses. When I told her the total amount I have spent, she said “Jesus!”
Ladies, go and drop by the Great Women store. Don’t call Jesus, just bring your credit cards.
Napaka buti na maykatuturan at purpose ang pagshopping sa GW. Espesyal ang.mga.telang ginamit. If you don’t mind me suggeating, yung sleeveless pwede rin palagyan ng sleeves na lace or anything with embroidery or sheer garment.
Hi Thelma,
Actually pwede ngang palagyan ko ng lace na sleeves kahit mini sleeves lang para matago ang mga taba ko.
Annie, you’re a great endorser! Buti na lang wala ako sa Pinas now….di magagasgas ang credit card ko LOL!
Hi Jing, hahaha. Dito ka mag-shopping.
Love all the dresses on you esp the embroidered one.
Thank you Rissa.
