A good percentage of the female job applicants are single moms. Some of those we’ve hired were single with no child, but after a month or two into their employments, they became pregnant. We’re talking of women ages 20, 21, 22, 25.
I spend an average of about fifteen (15) minutes per job interview. It could be more depending on how interesting the job applicant is. I always ask about personal things. I explain to them why I ask personal questions. In our many years of being employers, empoyees’ personal circumstances affect their work, and us.
A few days ago, I spent two hours interviewing several female job applicants.
Please go to English Pronunciation post to see the beginning of some of the interviews.

This is her story:
She was 20 when she met this 36 years old guy. They met while he’s on a 45 day break from his job
in Saudi Arabia. He convinced her to go with him to Tuguegarao. She did, without informing her parents. He took her cellphone that’s why for one month, she couldn’t be contacted. Her mother went crazy looking for her.
They stayed in Tuguegarao for 30 days and every single day, several times a day he had sex with her.
Me———- “Para kang ginawang sex slave?”
#4———- “Ganun na nga mam, mahirap tanggapin pero yun ang totoo.”
Me———- “My God, ang bata mo pa……”
After one month, she was allowed by the guy to go home. He promised to marry her. At 36, he was allegedly still single, no kids”.
They were married in front of a judge in the province where the guy was from. The judge was an uncle of the guy. Immediately after the simple rites, the guy flew back to Saudi.
In her mind “Ang bilis-bilis naman umalis, dalawang oras pa lang silang kasal”.
Her mother wished she didn’t get pregnant, but she did.
To bond with her in-laws, she decided to live with them even if her husband was away.
They made her their house maid- cleaning the whole house, doing laundry, cooking, etc.
When her mother found out, she took her back.
Her daughter is now 6 years old. She hasn’t seen her husband ever since he left her on their wedding day. He never sent her any money.
She showed me a copy of their marriage contract which she got from the Civil Registry. Oo nga, kasal nga sila. She said it baffles her why there are so many marriage certificates with the same name as her husband, except for the middle initial.
