It’s kind of sweet for my husband to wait for me at the altar instead of walking beside me.  It’s romantic.  It’s like doing it for the very first time.

35 years ago he waited too. But the big difference was we both came from different houses, rode in separate cars. When he reached the San Agustin Church in Intramuros, he hasn’t seen his bride yet. This time we came from the same place. We dressed up together and he knew exactly how I looked, the dress I wore, my ugly wrinkle-emphasizing make up. We rode too in the same vehicle. He was the driver, I was the navigator.

At the Las Vegas Wedding Chapel, I was in a holding room for a few minutes while my family entered the small chapel. I actually didn’t know that they were already waiting for me.

And oh boy, look at that million dollar look. The groom’s waiting for his bride of 35 years….
