We got tired of haggling with the cab drivers so we tried the tuk tuk, a modern day version of a rickshaw. Naku ganun din. The guy wanted Baht 200 and just like the taxi drivers, they used the traffic as an excuse to overcharge. As soon as I heard 200 baht, I turned my back away. The operator called me “ey, how mash?” I ignored him and continued walking towards Edmund. He yelled 150 baht! No way. I counter-offered 100, He insisted on the 150 due to traffic. I said “No trapik, beri near” and he relented.

My husband said “alam mo bang three dollars lang yung 100 baht.  Hayaan mo na lang.”

A—-“oo nga pala.”

This must be my very first time to ride on a tuk tuk. I’ve taken tricycles before in Binangonan, not in Thailand.

Tuk tuk is the iconic Bangkok means of transportation and is an authentic vacation experience.

The driver was polite and he didn’t ask for more money. He accepted the Baht 100 we agreed on.

Our tuk tuk whizzed by bigger vehicles like this Ford Ranger. My husband said “nakakatakot”. If we get hit by other vehicles, we could seriously get hurt because there’s no protection.
