I learned something from the BBC interview with former AIG CEO Robert Benmosche.
What is our legacy to our children? to the world?
I don’t know if I am going to depart from this earth leaving behind some good deeds or legacy or ewan. At least naisip ko bigla, tama sya, we parents should not leave behind our utang to our children (hehehe). Debt is not a legacy. Naku ang dami ko pa namang utang (hehehe again). Dapat before I say goodbye to mundong ibabaw, dapat zero debt na ako. Zero as in wah!
I will start first with the abubots that I can leave behind to my children. Also little things that I have that others can benefit from, instead of me just keeping them in the cabinet.
I unloaded my cabinet of a few old handbags. Bags that I have used only for a couple of times that are now gathering dust and amag inside my bathroom. I decided they can have more value if used by others. I gave away one Braun Buffel, one MCM, one Michael Kors to our office staff. I’ve seen them using the bags kaya happy naman ako. Kesa nasa loob lang ng banyo ko.
I also discarded some nice clothes and gave them away to security guards of other villages, laborers. I hope they are able to use them.
I have two paintings done in 2005 by two different artists. Mura lang itong mga ito otherwise I would not have bought them. I had them re-framed kasi mukhang luma na talaga.
Instead of just storing them without anyone noticing, I decided to give them away to my two favorite people.
How do I split this two equally eh the paintings are very different from each other. I gave Oyen the right to choose first because her brother was still in the shower. Oyen likes the oil painting done by artist Jovito, the one with children, a doggie and a cat. But she said the mother and son is more feminine and her brother might not like it. She’s giving Nyke the right to choose first. Nice naman ang anak ko.
When Nyke came down from his room, I made him choose. It took him several minutes before deciding on which one. Both are nice naman. He chose the Jovito oil painting.
After that, I marked the paintings para they would remember who gets what. Para walang away. Mura lang naman ito pero mabuti na rin yung walang iyakan.
I came across an article saying that the living will must be very specific, kahit mga t-shirt lang and old shoes, we must specify what goes to whom.
