A Visit to the Guardian Angel Cathedral - Oh My Buhay

A Visit to the Guardian Angel Cathedral

January 24, 2018 Tuesday

I’ve been missing Sunday masses. So when I felt better after taking 5 doses of antibiotics, I looked for a church to visit. I found on Google the Guardian Angel of Cathedral, a Catholic church very near the Strip and Wynn Hotel.

The doors were locked.

I went to look for the side entrance and those too were locked. I peeped through the glass portion of the door and saw an American lady vacuuming. She saw me but completely ignored me.

I saw a woman scouring the garbage for empty plastic bottles and cans.

Contrary to what my Vegan friend David advised me NOT to do, I approached the woman and asked if she would like to take a bag full of coffee, sugar, etc. I didn’t think she’s homeless naman but she looks impoverish.

She said yes and flashed a faint smile so I gave her one plastic bag full of stuff. Ever since Edmund left, I’ve been saving the sachets of sugar, coffee, plastic cups, etc that were replenished every day by the housekeeping at the hotel. I don’t drink coffee so when Edmund left, iniipon ko sa supot. I was hoping to chance upon a homeless person and this was the day. I was lucky because the supot was already full and medyo mabigat na rin. I was carrying it around hoping to give it to someone in need.
