Welcome Cake from Rockbuilt

Rockbuilt owners Gerry and Eulita Chua sent me a big Goldilocks cake yesterday.

Goldilocks cake

We actually first met last week when their whole family dropped-by at Ford Cainta. The couple seemed to be very nice. Gerry and I also found some common friends because he’s familiar with Binangonan. His father’s best friend according to him was Rico Lim, a kumpare and good friend of my Kuya Romy. I think Ka Rico passed away na a couple of years ago.
And what a small world, their son Brian who graduated cum laude from Ateneo is a batch mate and acquaintance of my son. He’s 22 and when I asked him if he already has a girlfriend, his mom was the one who answered
“no, no, wala pa, hindi pa pwede, hindi pwede”. Payagan mo na Eulita, Brian is 22, a college graduate cum laude pa, and now has a job. Girlfriend pa lang naman, he’s not getting married yet.

That reminded me of what my daughter told me the other night about her male friend courting a 28 year old girl who’s not allowed to go out by herself. She must be chaperoned by her elder brother, dapat laging foursome. So her suitor hasn’t had any chance to have a good conversation with her alone. I wonder when she would be allowed some liberties by her parents, maybe when she’s 43. Parang OA naman yung parents. To give her the benefit of the doubt, baka she has some kind of sickness kaya she cannot be by her lonesome.

I gave Rockbuilt‘s office a call this afternoon after seeing the cake to thank the couple but they weren’t there.
They were actually thankful that we gave them a free advertisement when their water tank was included in the picture of Ford Cainta building that came out in the newspaper.

Welcome to the neighborhood cake.
