I’ve been wanting to bring my husband to Bratislava to try grilled or baked fresh river trout they are famous for. That’s one of the reasons why I picked this particular package tour. It has many elements in it aside from Oberammergau. The tour ends in Vienna so I saw the perfect opportunity to revisit Budapest and swing by Bratislava for lunch.
There are many cafes and restaurants around the town square and since we don’t have a lot of time to choose from among the many we entered the first restaurant we saw that has grilled trout on their menu, Pod Kamennym Stromom Bar & Restaurant located in the historical Old Town.
E—–“Oh dito na!”
Dito na nga. Authentic pa. Quaint pa. Tahimik pa.
E—– “Fish ba? Oh dito na!”
Dito na nga. Authentic. Quaint. Laid-back. Simple. Quiet. Hidden. No people. No contamination.
The toilet is somewhere down there.
Antokation.
We could hear the oil searing while the restaurant owner was frying the fish. We could also smell the flavors. Hmmm. Fresh na fresh bagong huli.
This is lunch.
Mr. & Mrs. Lakwatsero having a romantic lunch in a quaint family backyard in Slovak Republic somewhere in Central Europe.
It is bordered by Poland to the north, Ukraine to the east, Hungary to the south, Austria to the southwest, and the Czech Republic to the northwest.

After a satisfying and relaxing lunch, we spent the next 30 minutes buying a few small souvenir items, taking more photos, enjoying the cold air, a peaceful walk, and just feeling grateful.
