I found myself staring at a tall artificial ficus tree inside the Eurobel showroom, imagining where I would place it—either at the Makati Ford showroom or at the farm.
I can already see it in the corner of our small sala, or perhaps in our primary bedroom. But even more fitting—bagay ito sa master bath. I’ve always imagined filling that space with plants—hanging greens and small trees along the edges—to create the feeling of an outdoor bath. Para akong dyosa na naliligo sa kagubatan.
Na-excite ako. I went in to inquire about it—its height, origin, and whether it could be used in a semi-outdoor space.
The sales agent said it’s from their sister company, Maison Verde. He got my name and my viber number.
This one on display is 2.8 meters tall. Wow, I really like that.
Agent —– “Mam, we have something shorter 2 meters.”
Me——— “No, I like this height, It’s perfect. The taller the better”.
He didn’t know where it came from except that it’s imported.
I asked how much.
Agent —— “Eighty nine thousand”
Me———- “Kasama ang paso?”
Agent —— “No mam, the pots are separate.”
Me——— “For P89,000 hindi pa kasama ang paso? Okay.”
I stared at it again, and my imagination ran wild—big and small spiders, ipis (plural-ipises), rats, even snakes playing hide-and-seek in my tree.
Right now, I don’t have a dedicated maid yet at the farm—I had to let the previous ones go kasi kulang sa sipag.
Baka mapuno lang ito ng alikabok, magmukhang nabiktima ng ashfall from Taal Volcano. Makunsumi lang ako. I’ll probably end up washing it myself—and just thinking about that already makes me tired.
Within an hour, Maison Verde touched base with me. They sent me pictures of other plants such as olive tree, philo tree, kentia palm, fiddle leaf fig tree, chestnut and bamboo trees. If any one of you are interested, you may contact them directly. @maisonverdeph maisonverde.com.ph
