I am in the mood to create something. Instead of making the super chocolatey cake Louis XV, I am going to make Hazelnut Dacquise (pronounced as dakwas), and coat it with a thin layer of White Paradise Ganache. Wahh, sobrang high-fallutin’, parang totoo, sobrang pa-impress!
I am buying the ingredients little by little. I went to Santi’s yesterday afternoon after office. I paid P4,900 lang naman.
Today I bought a tray, cake flour, whisk, etc. and spent some P2,500. Kulang pa ng tray, cutters, Kitchen Aid mixer, spatula, weighing scale, etc. Teka, aabutin na ng P50,000 pag binili ko lahat yan, hindi pa kasama labor charge ko. Sabi ko na nga ba, it’s easier, faster and definitely CHEAPER to run to Goldilocks, Red ribbon and Gateau de Manille to get delicious cakes and cookies.
I went to Robinson’s Supermarket but they did not have some of the stuff I needed. Julienne mentioned today that there’s a baker’s depot in Galleria, so I went. It’s a small store and has limited stuff.
Me —- “Miss, meron kayong parchment paper?
Miss—- Outs ofs stocks
Me (I wasn’t sure of what she said)
Me—— Ha?
Miss—- Out ofs Stocks
(Again, I wasn’t sure of what I have just heard)
Me—— Ano?
Miss—- Out ofs Stocks, matagal na.
(Annie, bingi ka ba? sabi ng walang stocks)
Sayang naman, they are closing this store sometime this month.
