Shopping - Oh My Buhay

I was at the Shangril-Mall today from 4:30 to 8 pm. I bought token gifts for our guest speakers tomorrow at the Philippines Inc.’s conference. I didn’t know what to get for 6 gentlemen plus for our VVVVIP Guest of Honor Pnoy.

The easiest part was shopping for our lady speaker. I bought stuff that I use myself- LUSH soap. I bought a lot and placed them in a box. I particularly like the Karma, Figs, Snow flakes. I also bought 3 ballistic balls for her bath tub and one body massage bar in a tin can. I hope she too likes these things.

For the men, I went to Rustan’s. I bought generic stuff- crystal vases for fruits, juice, etc. Something that can be given to mom, wife, sister or if single, can fit very well in a man’s pad.

Ang bagal- bagal nila. I went around for half hour and they haven’t wrapped the 7 boxes. So I killed time looking at plates at the porcelain section.

This is Erico Castillo, he told me the plates are individually priced. He said some people buy just one piece, for display or collection.

Oh my God! I fell so much in love with these Richard- Ginori plates. I just couldn’t leave. I must have spent a good 30 minutes touching it.

I love blue, I love white, I love gold, I love European-made stuff,
perfect.

Perfect na perfect yan pag nabasag ni Cherry.

With heavy feet, I said goodbye (I shall return a la General McArthur) to Ginori and headed back to the gift wrapping section. Naku po, hindi pa tapos. I told them I’ll just send my driver to pick up the items tomorrow morning.

As soon as I got home, I showed Julienne the photos of the plates and she Googled the brand. The good news is that some of the plates are available on line from Italy and may be shipped to the US for half the price.

When Edmund came home, Julienne told him “Dad, mommy saw some very nice plates, mom tell Dad about the plates”
Me—- I am so very much in love with the plates, tart, sa Rustan’s ang ganda.
Edmund— Where are they? May I see? Did you buy them?
Julienne— No, she didn’t. They’re expensive.
Edmund—– I thought you’re in love with them, you should have bought them. Dapat binili mo na.
Julienne— Dad, the Turreen is P124,500.
Edmund—– Ha? Wow!
Me——— the plate is P13,500 each
Edmund—– Dapat lang pala hindi mo binili. I’m proud of you, you didn’t buy them.

Hello Suze Orman. I saw these nice looking plates.
Suze Orman—— D E N I E D !

After Rustan’s, my next goal is to find a suitable gift for the President. This is a token, a souvenir from our group consisting of our Chairman Tonyboy Cojuangco who is the President’s first cousin, his uncle Tony Lopa and friends way way back even before he entered politics. I kept calling Rp Manhit to get information from Tonyboy and Tony Lopa about what music Pnoy listens too.

It was getting late so I just used my best judgment and proceeded to Astrovision. I just chose some concert DVDs and movies. Pnoy and I are I think of the same age, bahala na, maybe he would like what I like.

I grabbed about a dozen stuff and headed to National Bookstore’s wrapping section.

Another decision making process— puro girly girly ang wrappers, hindi bagay pam Presidente.
