Lone Survivor and etc. - Oh My Buhay

Music makes EDSA traffic less irritating.

Saw this mini spa on the way to Megaclinic in Megamall. We’re good in playing with words.

Yedang remains one of the top Korean restaurants in Manila, with their tables enjoying full capacity in any day. Went in smelling bagong ligo, left smelling like barbeque.

Their prices have increased

We are planning of retiring one company soon and I met with the business permit officials yesterday afternoon to discuss how we could save some money on taxes. The rule kasi is even if you only operate for a day, you still have to pay the whole amount based on your previous sales. Kaya wala rin pala kaming ma-se-save, para kaming nagtatapon ng pera sa basura. We have to decide whether we would retire it end of the year or keep it inactive in case we want to resurrect it in the near future. Inactive means paying taxes still that are still in the thousands. The cost of doing business is sky high.

When I went out of the municipal building, there’s a mango vendor selling his malapit ng mabulok mangoes for P30 a kilo. This is cheap considering that regular prices are P70 – P100 a kilo. I bought two kilos. Galing daw from Zambales.

When my maid saw the mangoes, she questioned why I bought those almost bulok ones. I said ang mura kasi.

I knew it, sa balat pa lang yung itim. Pagmatigas pa, sa labas pa lang yung itim, pero paglambutin na, wag na. Walang future.

Friday night, I ate alone. Husband arrived about 15 minutes later.

We watched a movie in our bedroom- “Lone Survivor” starring Mark Wahlberg. My kids actually warned me not to watch it kasi it’s so intense. Kilalang-kilala na nila ako, kaya ang bilin “mommy, don’t watch this”.
I defied their order by asking Edmund to watch with me.
He said sige, maganda raw yun sabi ni William Lao.

I was not feeling well the night before and the whole day yesterday, so while the move was on, I was closing my eyes most of time. I felt para akong may sinat. But when it came to the actual fighting scenes with the Taliban, I went down to the kitchen and ate some mangoes to relieve my tension. My kids were right, the movie’s so intense. Ang problema pa, I cannot say sine lang naman yan, kasi it’s based on a true story.

Lone Survivor’s intensity kept Edmund awake the whole time.
