The most popular flea market in the Bay Area is the one in Alameda. Held every first Sunday of each month at the sprawling former US Navy airport runways over looking the San Francisco skyline, the Alameda Point Antiques Faire is the largest in Northern California with over 800 vendors selling home decors, clothes, food, Louis Vuitton vintage leather goods, pottery, books, dolls, shoes, jewelry, furniture, etc.

7:30 am to 9:00 am $10.00 *** We paid $30 for the 3 of us.
9:00 am to 3:00 pm $5.00
3 pm—- NO ADMITTANCE

Shopping for unique items is challenging and fun.
There’s a guy selling all Louis Vuitton leathergoods. This trunks sell for $2,000 a piece. There were very old looking ladies handbags he was selling for $1,700. I am not a fan of buying old handbags especially Louis Vuitton, unless you cannot afford a new one and you want pre-owned if you could save a lot of money. That’s perfectly fine. In his case, the bags were not cheap, so instead of paying $1,700 for a very dirty old looking bag, why not just buy a brand new one from the LV store. You will get more value for your money. It’s new, clean, smells good, and something you would enjoy using for many years. One of the joys of buying a new bag is it smells good.
For ladies who find LV expensive, don’t feel bad, it’s not important in your life. There are so many nice brands that are less expensive.
There’s also a big advantage in buying cheaper brands. Pag luma na or ayaw mo na, it’s easy to discard. Hindi manghihinayang. When the bag is expensive, you get attached too it, ang pangit na, kamul-kamol na, sulat-sulat na ng ballpen, malutong na ang leather, katkat na ayaw mo pang itapon.
The vendors of these furniture and art pieces are mother and daughter. The mom is an artist. She paints and does art on canvass.
It was love at first sight the minute I saw the table and chairs. $425 daw including 6 chairs. She gave me a $25 discount. Sasabihin ko sana kung pwede $395 na lang pero kakahiya. Imagine the amount of work they put in to finish this dining set.
The set included 4 chairs and 2 arm chairs. Murang-mura na yan.
Bong had some difficulty trying to fit the dining table and all 6 chairs at the back of the Navigator.
We left at 10:30 am kasi ang init init na. Plus we’re happy with our finds including the dining set.
Next stop, Island Pacific fast food. Tilapia again?
I don’t want to eat tilapia for the next 27 years.
