Salesforce - Oh My Buhay

June 18, 2019

We visited the Salesforce headquarters in San Francisco. This tower is actually owned by Boston Properties but Salesforce bought the building’s naming rights and they also occupy practically the whole floors.

Salesforce Tower
It is the tallest building in Northern California with 61 floors at 1,070 ft. The tower is as tall as 3.5 Statues of Liberty stacked on top of each other. It is also 7 ft. taller than the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Salesforce owns two other buildings across the street to complete their urban headquarters.

I like clear glass walls but this one somehow makes me feel like I am in an aquarium.

Who is Salesforce?
According to them, they are the global leader in customer relationship management (CRM). It was founded in 1999 by Marc Benioff, Parker Harris, Frank Dominguez, and Dave Moellenhoff.
During the presentation, the two young executives never categorically said in simple terms what they are. It was me who straightforwardly said that they are basically a cloud-based software company.
I found the briefing interesting although I didn’t quite get some of it because it’s about technology. Alam mo naman hindi ko yan forte. I wished my son was with us so he could get interesting ideas from these young tech and marketing guys.

When the discussions are about technology, I have to activate all my brain cells for me to have a tiny grasp of what this technology is all about. Ang gagaling ng mga bata ngayon.

Look at their office pantry. That’s the trend in big companies like Salesforce, Google, Facebook. Libre kape, tea, tubig, orange juice, apple juice, lemonade, gatas, meron pang cookies. Gusto nila, hindi na uuwi ang mga staff, dyan na mag-iistambay.

After the briefing, we were brought to the very top floor called Ohana.
