Fifty Million pesos reward for a vaccine!
Napuyat ako sa kaiisip kung paano ako makaka imbento ng bakuna laban sa corochin virus. Dinikdik na bawang, luya, sili, pinigang ampalaya, nilagang malunggay, ano kaya?
Pres. Duterte is giving a 10 million reward now increased to fifty million pesos. Anyone who could come up with an effective vaccine could earn billions worldwide. If it’s me, siguro I’ll just give the formula for free as a service to mankind.
Our lives will never be the same again without a vaccine. The enhanced community quarantine, shelter in place, stay at home, lockdown, which my husband refers to as house arrests don’t kill the virus. We are basically hiding from it so it doesn’t kill us. We can’t go about our lives in the manner that we’ve been accustomed to without an effective vaccine. We can minimize our risk of community transmission if we limit our movements, stay away from people, wear astronaut-like suits. Put barriers, glass walls, clear fiberglass dividers, but these only minimize the risks, not eradicate it completely. A vaccine is the only way we could start to be free to travel again, to hug and kiss our loved ones again, to go to flea markets, to attend large gatherings. Unless and until a vaccine is out in the market and accessible by all, then we people have no choice but to adapt to what’s going to be a new normal kind of life.
A group of people opposed to vaccinations has requested that media stop referring to them as “anti-vax.” Instead, they would prefer to be called “vaccine risk aware.” I haven’t heard about them lately amidst the ncovid19 pandemic. I wonder if they will refuse to have the vaccine to protect them from this virus creating a global pandemic.

There was an outbreak of the measles virus about three years ago in the Los Angeles area. Many children got sick because they were not vaccinated when they were babies.
I met a doctor who never had a flu vaccine and he applies that belief to his children.
Risks must be weighed between the effects and side effects.
I believe mankind will have difficulty moving forward without an effective vaccine against the corochin virus. I will be the first to line up.
