FASHION SHOW

On August 25, Thursday, I watched IMAGINARIUM, the graduation fashion show of students from the Fashion Institute of the Philippines. About 30 students showed 4 creations each. I only took one or two photos from each student’s collection. Some of the clothes were elegant, pretty and wearable while some I found a little outrageous but overall, the students were all creative.
You be the judge.

I was afraid the models would fall and break their ankles.   Hindi daw.  These professional models  are used to wearing super high H.

Raffia gown by Stephan John Acelar. This was like a finale number. The young designer has vision. Very original.

Nice but please don’t wear to your wedding. Baka makatihan ang groom eh tumakas.

During the show, the model kept on opening the front part. It gave me the impression that she was deliberately showing her panty. Her name must be Victoria.

I was recently told that the model was actually opening the slit  so that the red light inside the gown could be seen.

If your wife is a nagger, hang her in the Christmas tree.

This is actually a design made by Venus Ocampo.  The technique is called HONEYCOMB and she won an award for “Best in Technique”.

With all due respect to the designer, I just don’t get this. If this dress is given to me, I will have a problem, I frankly wouldn’t know what to do with it.

  1. Fashion only become fashion if ordinary people can wear that. I like your comments.

  2. Hi! would like to know how I can get in touch with you regarding this post? Hope you can reply though email. thanks! 🙂

  3. It’s very evident to the words you used that you have no knowledge nor respect to what high-fashion is. You are rude but in a very wrong way that fashion people won’t appreciate.

    1. Hi, were you the designer of the dress that I said I didnt get what it was? Sorry if you were offended. I know designers show different interpretations. We, ordinary people look at it from the point of view of how the particular dress would look on us, not from the point of view of the designer. I didnt say it was ugly. I just said I wouldnt know what to do with it . Models are all tall and slim, they can carry any dress and they would still look pretty. But I am short and stout. Honestly, that dress, tamed down version, would look smart and pretty.

  4. I like your posts, Annie. Actually, some models here are from the same agency as my daughter’s…..I believe that your comments here are from a spectator’s point of view…..I find some of your captions even amusing….Keep up the good work. I enjoy reading your blog.

  5. You should really think better about naming your page titles. For example, what do you think you can improve on Fashion Show | Oh My Buhay . Again, just trying to help here 🙂 Regards, Jenni

  6. I watched the fashion show too. I was there on the left side. Somework are crazy but some are nice too. I like your site’s honesty.

  7. My friend told me about your site, I agree with your comments. some clothes are wearable others are so-so

  8. Talented students, but traying hard to impress. Good clothes are simple yet elegant, not trashy and garbage.

  9. Thanks on your marvelous posting! I seriously enjoyed reading it. I want to encourage you to continue your great work, have a nice afternoon!

  10. Make sure you know or at least have a background regarding fashion. you should know these people. not just posting their pictures! (ex.: the editors of fashion mags such as Andre and Daryl Chang, Meryl Yan, etc.)

You’ve also mixed up their names!!! that design is Lara Santos’ not Korinne Vinarao’s.. and that is not Kriszan’s, that is Karina Nash’s.
Btw, she is Justin Gabionza. She’s also the girl in Globe’s TVC.
