My visit to Las Vegas is never complete without a visit to the Antique Mall of America. I just love antiques and a pilgrimagento the stores is my simple happiness. A half-hour of browsing is a good physical exercise and relaxation too.

Sometimes I stumble upon something unique that I wish I could bring home like this cute bowling alley.   I don’t have a space for it, I don’t know how to ship it.  One time there was a mini fire truck I fell in love with.  It was selling for $14k I think.

Maybe I will frame two or three of Edmund’s favorite basketball uniforms. I think I know where to hang them.
Framed baseball jersey number 28 with commemorative patches.
I am fond of vintage`drinking glasses.  They remind me of my mom.  She had a few kept inside her locked china cabinet, Ingat na ingat sya.
Elegant wine glasses with gold butterfly designs.
It’s easy to get absorbed by the amount of vintage items on display.  When I first started going to antique stores, in the early days of my love for everything European,  I would get overwhelmed, parang gusto ko bilhin lahat.   Now,  I choose and try to focus on what really interests me.   I also don’t have a lot of space, baka kakalat lang so I am exercising some control.  Sometimes I still bring him other people’s junk but I just tell myself it’s my small contribution to support the antique vendors.  I don’t want their stores to close.  They give me joy and spending a few dollars twice a year is my humble contribution to help keep their passion alive.

Oh, Len and I had seen this oil painting sometime last year. It’s still unsold, maybe it’s meant for me.  I wanted to buy it then but I couldn’t find a detailed information about the artist.    I saw the owner / collector walking but I no longer approached him to ask.  Maybe next year if I happen to be here again and this painting is still here (and if I have extra money to spare),  maybe, just maybe.

When buying expensive art, the provenance is important in the absence of an original certificate.   Nothing beats locating snd contacting the artist himself to verify the work’s authenticity.
