We went to Island Pacific in Union City and shipped 2 balikbayan boxes. What are inside? The usual things- towels, comforter, bedsheets, shoes, etc.
Alas has increased their rates, it was only $38 last June, now it’s $43 drop-off.
Last year, there was a door-to-door service owned by Filipinos that disappeared with more or less 2,000 boxes sent by our kababayans. These were supposed to be delivered to their relatives in time for the Christmas of 2010.
