Banana Crepe with Gelato

I was exploring a short stretch of commercial establishments in Las Vegas Chinatown when I saw a photo of delicious looking crepe posted on the glass window.
I glanced inside and saw a few people standing in front of the gelato ice cream counter.
Wag na lang. Baka super tamis. My sugar is borderline. I continued walking. When I reached the end of the building, there was nothing there anymore, except if I would cross the street to get to the next cluster of commercial establishments. I made a uturn, came back the same way. The next time I passed by the gelato ice cream parlor, I stopped again and looked at the photo. Hmmm. #zeroselfcontrol
This time, there were no more customers inside. Just me. I ordered mango crepe but the young lady at the counter said they have no mango, only strawberry and banana, I chose banana. The same person prepared my crepe.

She was also the cashier.

I was feeling tired from walking so I took my sweet time eating my dessert. Even after I had finished it, I didn’t leave right away so I could rest for a while. Wala namang ibang customers, tahimik.

I noticed the young Asian employee, said she’s 23, She was so busy working. I saw her wiping the counters, washing several ice cream scoopers including the pitchers used in making fruit shakes which they also carry. She also mopped the floor in the kitchen area and outside where the guest tables are.

She asked me if I’ve seen someone go inside the toilet because it’s locked. She wanted to clean the toilet but it was locked.

Since there was a lull, she used this down time to clean up. In the half hour I was there, she didn’t stop working nor use her phone. Naku kung sa Pilipinas yan, nakatunganga na sa cellphone or naka earphone at nakikinig ng music.

I asked her if she’s there the whole day, she said there are three of them in shifts starting at 7 am. So meaning, there’s only one employee at any given time doing everything, from serving the customers, cashiering, cooking the crepes, preparing the fruit juices, cleaning, throwing garbage, etc. Wow, her employer is very lucky to have hardworking and dependable employees like them. Ang sipag nila ano? Hindi namimili ng trabaho. Sa atin, yung kalat nila sa mesa ni hindi damputin para itapon sa basurahan sa gilid nila.
