Twelve hours after the polling places closed, Bongbong Marcos is standing tall with a 50% lead. There’s a clear winner. Love him or hate him, he is President Rodrigo Duterte’s next successor.
There are pending disqualification cases still being wished for and pushed by those against Bongbong Marcos.
I think it is irresponsible for anyone to espouse and insinuate that his win is contestable. Our duty now as law-abiding citizens is to respect the new administration.
We all had our respective preferences during the election but once the people have chosen and spoken, BBM is no longer a candidate. After he is sworn in as the new President of the Republic of the Philippines, he now becomes an institution. Criticizing and throwing mud at him won’t do us and our country any good.
Those who screamed love of country during the political rallies should practice it starting now.
Mabuhay ang Pilipinas. Mabuhay tayong lahat.
