Bright Drivers & Patricia

I was so mad.   Kunsumisyon.  Drivers must have a certain degreee of intelligence because their job not just involve navigating the wheels.  There are a lot of errands that need to be done.  They also act as couriers of important documents.

I spent several months writing a thesis,  awa ng Dyos,  the driver delivered the hard copies, some CD’s,  my notes etc,  to someone in the  desert that until now I couldn’t trace.   Wala na yung driver na yun dito,  idinestino ko na rin dun sa desert.

A  few days ago,  I computerized the names and addresses of 10 omb readers.  I printed them on a bond paper.   I prepared 10 Ford Cainta give-aways for shipping to them.     I sent out driver John to JRS express.

I thought my instructions were very clear.

“Eto ang listahan ng mga pangalan at ang kanilang mga address.  Isa -isa silang papadalhan nito,  ilalagay sa  supot.  Kaya sampung supot lahat.

Ang sender, ilagay mo  C____ Motors at humingi ka ng resibo.  Ang cel phone number ko ilagay mo sa contact number.

Uulitin ko John,  eto ang listahan ng 10 tao na papadalhan ko nitong mga supot.  Alam mo na ang gagawin mo?  Yung resibo under C____ Motors huwag mong kalimutan.  Bawat isang tao, isang package.

John—-  “Yes, mam, alam ko na yan”.

Yesterday afternoon while I was on my way to a friend’s office,  I received a call from JRS express asking for the complete address of C____ Motors because they said they could not deliver the package.   I instantly knew the palpak of John.  I was fuming mad.

What John did was place all the 10 packages in one box,  wrote down C________Motors Corp as the would be receipient,  and put our home address as the shipper.   When JRS express heard that C____Motors is the sender,  they concluded na baligtad,  that the package would be sent to our house.   Why would I spend so much money shipping the packages to myself?

Kulung-kulo ang dugo ko.  Ayun may lagnat daw sya,  at mag-aabsent.  Ang sarap kutusan.   Ang problema pa,  since John was the one who dealt with JRS,  only he could retrieve the 10 packages.

Many years ago,  I asked our messenger to give P1,500 to a girl living somewhere in Mandaluyong.   Her complete address was written on the white envelope.    Our messenger, while walking and looking for the girl’s house,  asked the istambays there.  “Pre, saan ba dito si Patricia___?”

Istambays—-   bakit mo hinahanap,

Our messenger——  “kasi meron siyang pera, pinapabigay ng boss ko sa kanya”.

Istambay————  Hayun dun si Patricia. samahan kita.

Lakad lakad,  they reached the ilalim ng tulay sa tabing Pasig River.

Istambay———–  “Hoy Patricia,  may pera ka dito, pirmahan mo daw”

Messenger——–  “Ikaw ba si Patricia?”

Istambay———  “Mahiyain iyan.  Pirmaham mo daw”

Patricia Kuno—  Signed the paper receiving the P1,500 cash.

After two weeks,

Me————–  Kanino mo ibinigay yung pera?  Bakit hindi raw natanggap?

Messenger—-  mam, kay Patricia mismo

Me————   Saan?  sa mismong bahay nila?  Yung nasa address?

Messenger–    Oo,  parehong pangalan Patricia

Me———-    Same adddress?

Messenger—  Doon daw yung address sabi nung kalapitbahay.

Me———-   Saan nga?  Nakita mo ba yung numero ng bahay?

Messenger–  Walang numero,

Me———  Paano mo nasiguro????

Me——–  Naku, wala na yun dun.

Goodbye P1,500
