Enderun’s French culinary instructor, Chef Marc Chalopin made it so easy to understand the recipe and process of preparing fresh ravioli from scratch. Too bad my camera’s battery died in the middle of Chef Marc’s cooking demo.
I saw several pieces of this tiny piece of plastic that looked like a freebie from a store in France, I don’t know how it’s called, I thought they were giving it to us too. I asked Chef Marc if I could bring this home, he said no , because it would be used by the other students. I washed it and placed it back on the kitchen counter.
I like everything French. I have long suspected that I was probably a French girl in my past life.
The only reason why I like this tiny piece of plastic is because it’s from France. It has no material value. So when he said I could not bring it home, I just copied the writings and told myself, I would google this place and ….
When our class ended, as I was leaving the kitchen, Chef Marc followed me outside the door and he said “Madame, this is for you, and he grabbed my big shoulder bag and stuck this thing in. I was holding the ravioli that I made with both my hands.
I was surprised, he remembered that I wanted to bring it home.
I had mixed emotions, nahiya ako at the same time, thankful.
I felt like a little girl na binigyan ng candy.
