Before taking a cab to Chinatown, My son and tried the chicken rice at the food court on the 4th floor of Raffles City. For S$6.50 the chicken rice was all worth it.
My son said my ginger sauce was better. Of course, what are sons for?
From the mall, we took a cab to Chinatown, our landmark is the Buddha Tooth Relic. It’s a short drive from our hotel. The meter registered S$4.80. I gave the taxi driver $7, he said “too much” and he returned to me the $2. Ang bait ano? Sana ganyan din dito sa atin.

We saw a big sign offering foot massage so we went. The place is on the second floor of an old commercial building. It’s surprisingly very decent, clean, very cold aircon, and sarap matulog! A very old Chinese man came in a few minutes and gave my son a traditional Chinese massage.
I paid $35 for foot and back massage, $45 for my son’s whole body massage = s$80 x 34 = P2,720
We got out at 6 pm and headed to Park Mall to join the Federal Phoenix group for dinner at a restaurant Kublai Khan
The flag-down rates differ in Singapore depending on the kind of vehicle. This one’s a Mercedez Benz so the rate is s$3.80 as commpared to Kia or Toyota $3. Some taxi’s charge $5.
For some reason, we paid $15 to Park Mall and yet it’s not very far. The driver said there’s a night charge and tax.
Our group were done eating when we arrived. They came from Universal Studios and apparently, they cut short their toor because most of them were tired so instead of the 7 pm dinner schedule, they were there by 5:30 pm.
They all left 5 minutes after my son and I arrived.
Kublai Khan has a good selection but the taste are just average. The place is not for fine-dining
We finished eating at almost 8 pm and we walked two blocks to Orchard Road. Shops close around 8 but I just took our chances that some stores would still be open. Meron nga. Some are open till 9 pm
