Our Christmas tree is up and about, thanks to the help of our driver Tony.  Every year he helped us assemble and dismantle this 12 footer  NBA star.

Actually, I have contemplated on buying a shorter one like 6 or 8 ft. which would be more practical, easier to manage and less space occupant.  But I didn’t want to spend again.

Just like in most homes,  our decors consist of what we already have and every year I add a few more stuff  so the result is CHOPSUEY.  I do not follow any color motiff,  basta whatever we have halo-halo na lang.

Edmund keeps telling me that our decors ” do not know each other”, they are chopsuey and that  there should be a motiff.

So this year,  I will try to follow his advice a little bit by starting with our tree.  I hang all whites, off-whites and gold tones.

This is about 9 years old. A gift from Bobby and Madet Leung who used to manufacture and export Christmas decors.

Xmas tree - OH my Buhay

I am still thinking whether to install lights or not;

In the past years, our Christmas tree always had lights but we never switched them on.

My fear of fire verges on paranoia.

One December, my kids and I were in the room on the second floor. Our Christmas tree was all ablaze with twinkling lights when our dog suddenly started barking. Yun pala the socket was burning.

Second time, the yaya smelled something burning, she saw the plug and wire leading to the Christmas tree already burning.

A mother and two teenage sons perished in a fire that gutted their two story house. The fire started in their Christmas tree. They were trapped in the master’s bedroom because their windows had grills.

We’ve heard too many tragic stories so never mind if our Christmas tree is anemic.
