Coach used be just among the many bags hanging on Macy’s racks, falling off the shelves and people not even caring to pick-up and hang-back. Then it became popular and extremely successful.
Credit is given to their very good designers who created fashionable and classy styles that rivalled the designs of more expensive brands like Bally, Ferragamo, Gucci, etc. Coach was able to gain a wider market-base because their prices were way below those of the high-end labels.
For a long time, it was not unusual to see long lines of customers outside the Coach shops waiting to get in. When they’re inside, they just grabbed and grabbed items here and there. I’ve seen both women and men carting-off loads of Coach bags. Some women claim they own a collection of 100 Coach bags and purses.
One obvious sign of Coach’s popularity is its proliferation in Greenhills, San Juan. Of course needless to say, those were the 1-star, 2-stars, and 3- stars, meaning ef, ey, kay, e.
Based on my observation, I think their stars are a bit glimming. Demand is still there but no more long queus and panic-buying frenzy. I see empty Coach stores, devoid of any customer.
My beautician Shaunda is celebrating her 39th birthday on November 5 or 7 and she told me she would like to buy a Coach bag as a treat to herself. She said one of her clients has very nice Coach bags and her wish is to have a nice one too, for herself.
If Shaunda and her client are of any indication, that means Coach is still there and alive. Their styles keep on improving and are getting nicer and nicer. The materials that they use and the quality of craftsmanship are of high standards.
Coach began in 1941 at a loft in Manhattan. Their headquarters is still there at 34th street. With over 500 stores all over the US and Canada, Coach continues to expand in Europe and Asia. Beginning this year, Coach bags are now being manufactured in the Philippines. Hooray! More jobs for our countrymen.
Coach store, Sunvalley Mall, Concord, CA
Annecy Boutique also sells some Coach bags.
I adore Coach. I have at least a dozen in my closet.
Coach has been around for more than 50 years. It is one of the more reliabale American brands. But too sad for the American people that it is now manufactured in China and Philippines.
