My brother in law Edwin and his wife Ellen have just came back from Fuda Cancer Hospital for Ellen’s 4th chemotherapy session. Ellen’s cancer started in her colon and has metastasized in her liver where the treatments are now being concentrated.
Ellen had 6 chemo sessions here in Manila until she gave up. There was no improvement and the traditional chemo was killing her healthy cells too.

Edwin told me that the cost of chemo in the Philippines is between P80,000 to P130,000 per session or per cycle. I have a friend sufferng from cancer of the colon and he buys his drugs in India which means big savings for him. He just pays the doctor P20,000 to administer the drugs on him.
At Fuda Cancer Hospital, and in other hospitals abroad, it could cost P400,000 per session. There’s a new, advanced and hopefully more effective medicine being administered by doctors now but the cost is a staggering P800,000 to P1,300,000. That’s a tremendous amount of money, how about the majority who don’t have the resources?
Cancer is killing so many people worldwide. According to the news report, there would be 24 million people within the next 12 months that would get sick of cancer. At Fuda, there are many Filipinos seeking treatments.
