Carol’s mid-sister Alicia also became very wealthy. She owned three huge houses in Indonesia worth millions of US dollars. She also owned other properties. Her sister was equally generous to her siblings just like their eldest sister who lost her wealth from an investment scam.
When Carol went on vacation and visited her sister, she gave Carol a $6,000 dollar watch.
When Carol found out that Alicia was also investing her money in the same way as their eldest sister, she tried to talk her out of it. Her husband left her because of what happened. She lost all her money and properties. She is now in the US working as a nanny just to put food on her mouth. Carol said she estimates that her sister must have lost more than $20M. Alicia didn’t learn from their eldest sister’s mistakes because the lure of earning big return monthly without having to work was tempting. Carol knows so many people in Indonesia falling prey to this investment scheme but she said they never learn from other people’s mistakes.
