Didn’t learn from her sister’s mistake

Carol’s mid-sister  Alicia also became very wealthy.  She owned three huge houses in Indonesia worth millions of US dollars.  She also owned other properties.  Her sister was equally generous to her siblings just like their eldest sister who lost her wealth from an investment scam.

When Carol went on vacation and visited her sister,  she gave Carol a $6,000 dollar watch.

When Carol found out that Alicia was also investing her money in the same way as their eldest sister,  she tried to talk her out of it.  Carol warned and reminded her about what happened to their sister who became very poor.  But Alicia would not listen to her.  She was already deep into the scam. She had sold her three houses one by one just to give the money to the woman who convinced her to invest.  The percentage of return was very tempting.

Alicia became very poor.  She used to live like a queen, with may household helpers.  She never cooked or do anything.  She was always the boss.  She never worked for anyone else.

Her husband left her because of what happened.  She lost all her money and properties.  She is now in the US working as a nanny just to put food on her mouth.  She has never worked before and was always the boss.  She is 58 and miserable.  Carol said her sister cries every day.  She is not used to being poor and doing household chores.  She lived like a queen in Indonesia, with maids around her, fancy cars, huge diamonds and expensive watches.  Now she is here in America working as a nanny.

Carol said she estimates that her sister must have lost more than $20M.  Alicia didn’t learn from their eldest sister’s mistakes because the lure of earning big return monthly without having to work was tempting.  Carol knows so many people in Indonesia falling prey to this investment scheme but she said they never learn from other people’s mistakes.
