My sister-in-law Eleanor Tan, nicknamed Dimple is in town for their clan’s reunion in Bacolod. I was supposed to pick her up yesterday from the condo she’s staying at in Ortigas Center when for some reason I couldn’t contact her. We waited in front of Oakwood Hotel/ JN Building near Yamaha along ADB Avenue when this uniformed guy accosted us. There were 3 other vehicles that were also parked with engines running and the drivers inside.
We did not contest that we were there only for a few minutes and it’s not like we were parked, because we were inside and the engine is running. So we just let him issue a ticket. He confiscated my driver Tony’s license. I just asked him ” Officer, pagkatapos ba namin, ti- ticket-an mo rin yung mga sasakyan na yun. He answered ” yes mam”.
Very well then. We waitied until he has also issued tickets to the other drivers. For some reason, we felt that he had no intention to issue tickets to them, if not for my prodding, and he knew that we were watching him. He walked back and forth beside the vehicles, and discretely observed us. Yes, officer, we were watching you. Yoohoo.
I wondered why those other vehicles didn’t flee immediately after seeing that the officer was ticketing us.
After 45 minutes of waiting and going around the block, I was finally able to contact my balikbayan sis-in-law.
I brought Dimple to Tonton’s Thai Massage Center for a half-hour foot reflexology massage. I figured that Dimple has jet lag so a good foot massage would be good. She liked it except that we should have stayed for an hour. Parang bitin.
Good to memorize the pressure points and for what particular organ it’s connected to ….
I brought Dimple to St. Padre Pio Church. There was a novena and subsequently a mass.
