Dining with husband at Kawayan Restaurant

My hasbanda asked me if I wantee to go to Kawayan restaurant in Taytay. Aba eh who’s going to say no? Definitely not me.
Pinangat na dalag with itlog, here I come!

What would normally take 10 minutes took half hour because of the bumper-to-bumper traffic along Manila East Road.
We didn’t even find out what caused it.

While walking towards the door…
Edmund— Sarado yata.

I opened the door,
Edmund—- Walang tao?
me——- Maaga pa, 5:30 lang

Me—– Waiter, gusto ko pinangat na dalag, piliin mo yung may itlog.
Waiter- Hindi ho mapipili. Tyempuhan lang.
Me—– Pwede, basta tingnan mo yung mataba. Tapos ihiwalay mo yung itlog para hindi madurog.
Edmund- Basta piliin mo yung mataba.
Edmund- At saka Hipon na guinataan. “Tart ano pa’ng gusto mo?
Me—– Okay na sa akin yung pangat, yun lang gusto ko.
Edmund- Order pa tayo?
Me—– gusto mo karne?
Waiter- Sir, crispy pata.
Edmund- Inihaw na liempo na lang, yung walang sauce.
After 3 minutes
Waiter- Sir, may bbq sauce timplado na.
Edmund- Ay wag, cancel mo na…. tortang talong na lang. Yun.
After 3 minutes
Edmund- ‘tart wala daw silang dalag
Me—– Naku, waiter, yan lang gusto ko kaya kami nagpunta dito.
Edmund- Kanduli na lang, sinigang sa miso.
Me—- Sariwa ba kanduli nyo?
Waiter- oho mam, araw-araw nag di-deliver.
Me—- Sige
Me—- (habol) waiter, at tsaka balaw-balaw, meron kayong balaw-balaw?
Waiter- Ay wala mam, wala kami.
Me—– (sigh.)

Edmund- Yan, sarap nyan, perfect.
Me—– What’s that?
Edmund- Masarap ito, bagoong balayan

Sinigang na Kanduli sa miso

Me—— “Tart, magde-dessert ba tayo?
Edmund– (Kirong)
Me—— “Gusto mong leche flan?
Edmund- (Kirong)
Me—– “Gusto mo ng mangga yung hinog?”
Edmund- Ayoko, (complete with facial expression and kirong)
Me—- “Waiter! Waiter! ako halo-halo isa, yung walang asukal. At ayaw ko din ng macapuno”.
After 5 minutes, halo-halo comes
Edmund- Halo-halo? yan ba ang halo-halo nila?
Me—– hmmm (eating na ako)
Edmund- isa lang, wala ako? Hindi mo ko inorder?
Me—– eh tinanong kita sabi bo hindi ka magde-dessert.
Edmund– Hindi mo ko tinanong, sabi mo leche flan
Me—– tinanong kita
Edmund– Hindi mo naman sinabi na halo-halo
Me—– Kala ko ayaw mo.
Edmund- Waiter! isa pang halo-halo
Waiter- Sir, may asukal?
Edmund- oo
Waiter- May macapuno?
Edmund- oo
