Eating Expedition

We went all the way to Angeles City to have lunch today. My daughter has been so curious about this place whose popularity skyrocketed eversince Anthony Bourdain, the American Michelin Star chef dined here in 2008, and featured this restaurant in Discovery Channel.
We left the house at 10 am with empty stomachs. It would be a 10 course meal so we didn’t want to lose our appetite. And we didn’t want to be late either because we were told that they would start on time, at exactly 12 noon.
We arrived at 11:30 and had time to relax a bit. But by the time food was served, at 12:30pm I was already starving. They were right in saying that it’s the longest lunch, because it was, maraming mga introduction before each sampler dish. By the time the second dish was served, I was already having some stomach pains.
But this did not deter me from eating, and enjoying my meal.

The inside stuff did not appeal to me. The room needs some re-organization and cleaning.

They ferment their own suka. By looking at these jars, you cannot make me sawsaw in those suka, parang feeling ko . ekk. My husband said masarap daw.

12:30 pm, Welcome drink, fresh orange juice with ice cubes and muscovado sugar. I took tatlong patak na sip and passed it to my son. I cannot drink citrus with an empty stomach at kung hindi, migraine would be my companion for the next 2 days.

Mabuti pa huwag ng magsama ng bata kasi maiinip lang at mangungulit. Yung mga matanda nga ay naiinip, mga bata pa.

Humingi si husband ng Pako plant or fern, pang salad daw. Edmund likes to garden. Naku, ewan kung merong kakain nitong Pako salad sa bahay. Masarap lang ito kung sa restaurant. si Joyce kaya mapag gawa ng dressing?

The trip was fun, food was good, but not something I would crave for. I don’t like to seat for several hours waiting for my food. Nasisira ang momentum ko. parang gusto ko pang kumain pero parang tamad na ako. The trip was worth it for the first time as we would always be curious. It’s also family bonding. But to go back, travel for 2 hours (traffic not included) and another 2 hours back, seat for almost 4 hours waiting for food, endure the humidity because there’s no aircon, pay more than P2,000 per person, spend money on expensive gas and pay toll, hmm, I don’t think so.
