After dismissing the idea for two years, I  finally decided to have microblading.
I found this Vietnamese lady who’s done it on 400 women.  I searched on Google and called.  When she answered she initially told me she’s going to pick up her daughter from school and she can only see me on Friday.  I am going home soon and I want this done asap so I drove to her salon in the rain and met her in person.

I’ve decided I will tell her I am from Malaysia. I will hide my identity.

Lady—“You were so fast. Sorry you waited”.
Me—–“Oh it’s fine”.
Lady—-“Are you Filipino? Your accent…..”

Buking again.

The facilities are classy and clean.

She was trying to be nice to me by complimenting how good my skin is, how young looking I am, etcetera, etcetera.  “Your beauty blew me away”.  Oh, that didn’t help. I saw my gazillion of wrinkles in the mirror and that was not good. Sigh.

She lived-in with a Filipino boyfriend for 11 years then they broke up. When I asked her “why what happened?” She answered, “I just don’t like him anymore”.

It’s tiring to fill in my eyebrows. 100% of the time my eyebrows are not balanced, not the same. One goes up the one is straight. The next day one is down, the other one is crooked. I have trouble shading them correctly. One time I attended a village party. When I came home Oyen told me that my eyebrows were violet. I didn’t realize that the pencil I used was for the eyes. She said I looked like a clown. During one of the state visits of FVR (decades ago), Andy S. told me my eyebrows were not pareho. Yung isa nadun pa, yung isa nabura na.

Every morning, just trying to shade my brows nicely and correctly puts me in a bad mood. Nakakapagod. It’s not true that practice makes perfect. I do this every single day but my eyebrows still come out imperfect.

So, I am taking the plunge this Friday morning at 9 am. I have paid a $100 deposit to secure the spot. Her fees are $450 if there is no retouch which she says is most common or $500 package with one retouch. Most of her clients don’t need a retouch.
She said the pigment will not turn violet in time. I am glad to hear that because I do not want to look like a clown. An old grumpy clown.
