I brought some Christmas gifts to my sister in law Elsie and Owel and family.
I saw my mom’s cupboard and I asked ate Elsie if she still has my mom’s old plates. My mom had china that she only brought out during special occasions like fiesta, noche buena and medya de noche. I’d like to keep those as souvenirs.

She looked and  found  several plates.  I asked if I could take them home  and  I offered to give her new ones.  She agreed.

These are antique plates owned by my mom. They just need  to be washed thoroughly.

The design is similar to the very expensive plates made in Bulgaria I saw in Fisherman’s Wharf last July 4

But this ones are from Japan

Vintage Plates from Japan- oh my buhay

These plates mean a lot to me. They bring back memories of my childhood in Binangonan. My mom cherished her small collection of China, milk and pressed glasses and kept them in a locked cupboard. She only used them for special occasions.
It could be that she influenced my love for plates. I miss her, very much.
