We arrived in Manila at 10 pm on November 1, 2011.
The center of attraction when we arrived home was the 5 orders of Burrito Bowl from Chipotle that we smuggled-in from the USA.
We must have left the pico de gallo in Aileen’s ktichen. The guacamole was beginning to darken, and the lettuce was lantutay na. The lime with herbs rice had hardened but after 10 seconds in the microwave, it was perfect again. At 12 midnight, the Yee family had a feast. Sarap talaga.
I went to bed at 2 am and woke up at 9 am. I just forced myself to get-out of bed.
I knew I was already in the Philippines when the first news that I saw was
“Father of Charice, stabbed dead….” ” Revilla’s son murdered…”. Puro bad news naman.
Instead of going to the office, I went to Cardinal Santos Hospital , then to St. Luke’s in Quezon City, then back to Cardinal.
I went to St. Luke’s supposedly to have a routine check-up with Dra. Adan. but then she wasn’t there. According to another doctor, Dra. Adan is no longer holding clinic because she’s sick. When I heard that, I became disoriented. Our doctors cannot get sick. They must be invincible. If we are sick and our doctors are sick, what happens to us?
I have a pea-sized sebacious cyst in my axillary area that bothered me while I was in the US. I was so scared this could be cancerous although our family doctor Dr. Palafox said it’s not.
I will go to the surgeon tomorrow.
While waiting for my ride, I noticed a woman strapped in a big stroller with her head leaning on one side, her mouth and two eyes wide open. A thought na-stroke sya.
I felt so bad for her so I interviewed her two companions, tila mga yaya nya. She is 52 years old (only) and her ailment first manifested 7 years ago when she started walking with a limp on her left leg. She has ELS, a hereditary muscle or nerves ailment that is not treatable and could be in her genes. I am not sure if this is similar to muscular atrophy wherein the muscles weaken. The doctor (daw) said her children could be carrying these genes which could manifest later in their years. Sana wag naman.
