Before I knew it, it’s already my son’s birthday. I have no wrapped gift. I want to give him something aside from my traditional gift to him every year that comes with the formula: Age x P1,000 = Gift Check thingy.
I left the office at 4 pm. I told the driver “Sa Rockwell”. then I realized I could get caught in heavy traffic so I changed my mind. “Sa Shangrila Mall na lang para hindi tayo ma-traffic”. He replied “sa mall ba mam?”
I was looking at my phone, when I looked up, we’re near Rockwell. It was okay, there’s a shortcut there. Shortcut only if there’s no long line of jeepneys that extend all the way to Guadalupe.
I was inside Shangrila Mall by 4:30 pm. I gave myself half hour to shop.
I went to Zara. Shirt kaya? Pero we bought him several polo shirts in Marseille.
Pants kaya? Ang hirap pumili.
I went to Massimo Ditto. He likes this brand. It’s hard to choose so I asked if they have gift certificates. Wala daw. Meron daw sa Zara which could be used also in their store. I went back to Zara. Yes they have a gift card P1,000 or P5,000 up to P10,000.
Okay, I said “P5,000”. they swiped my card. After 15 minutes, they couldn’t register the gift card. Nag e-error. They tried several more and the same thing happened.
I left. They reversed the P5,000 credit card charge.
Last stop, I bought 10 gift certificates from Golden Spoon at P100 each. My son would appreciate this GCs. He likes to come to Golden Spoon naman for their P199 a cup challenge.
