Going home from HK to Manila

We’re at the airport waiting for our flight to Manila that would hopefully leave as scheduled at 6 pm. The plane would be coming from The 245 pm flight from Manila.
Yesterday’s weather was perfect, cloudy but partially sunny with no rain. We went to Holywood Road this morning but most shops were still closed. We ended up having brunch in a traditional Chinese resto. It started to rain while we were going out of the restaurant. We bought two umbrellas from a nearby Watson’s store for HK$25 a piece.
The rain was getting stronger so we just walked back to the hotel, napped then checked-out at 1 pm.

We were supposed to go to Kowloon because our flight was still at 6 pm, but because of the rain, we just went straight to airport express, checked-in and here we are, whiling away our time at the humongous HK airport.

We bought some clothes from Zara’s store here at the airport.
I also went to the Hermes store. There’s a hunter green size 40 Kelly bag on the shelf. I asked how much, the sales lady said it’s HK505,000. Then there were two guys who appeared behind me and looked at the bag. I initially thought they were Japanese. They spoke with the sales lady in Mandarin which made me conclude that they are from Mainland China.
They opened the Kelly bag, looked at it from the full
view mirror, then bought it. Yes, just like that. What boggles my mind is that they paid in cold cash. How do you carry around that much money in the airport without being detected? One guy left for about 10 minutes and came back with more cash. He probably withdrew from his ATM. I don’t have ATM but I just know that there’s a limit to what you could only withdraw. One wife would be very happy tonight. Or maybe not, she might scold him ” why did you buy this bag? I don’t want a Kelly. I prefer a Birkin”.

Tomorrow is the annual Mazda Convention and launching of the Mazda 3 and CX 5, so medyo busy ako. I hope to be able to tell you all about our trip to the Canton Fair and HK beginning this saturday. I have so many kwento and photos too.

    1. Hi Wilson, apologies, I only saw your message. the annual convention is only for Dealers and a limited number of employees because it’s actually awards night. With regards to the launch, I am not sure if Mazda invited the press or some guests.

Unless you have friends who have been invited, baka ma out of place ka dun. Every year, TAbles are only provided for the Dealer Principals, the employees just stand up the whole time. If you are willing to stand, then I will give your name to the reception, just say Mazda Makati.

  1. Hi Ms Annie, thank you for your reply. I thought it was a press launch for the 3 and the CX-5. 🙂 Anyway, I may go this weekend to the Mazda Revolution event. Thank you again!
