Nyke’s original bedroom will become the nursery. It’s adjacent to Oyen’s room and our room too so it would be easier to access especially in the middle of the night when the baby boy screams for milk and “lolaaaaa change my nappie”.
I am moving Nyke’s bed, night table, and personal things to the guest room on the second floor.
This room has long been craving renovation so this is the opportune time to do it.
I started by stripping off the 16-year-old wallpaper. Although still beautiful and elegant, some parts were already peeling off due to water leaks coming down from the gutter on the top floor.
Although the wallpaper is more elegant, I will just have the wall painted. Humidity and rain are not friendly to wallpapers so I’ll just use latex paint. In the future, if I change my mind, I can put wallpaper over it.
Instead of plain white, I’ll paint the wall with some bold color for a change. I bought Davies water-based semi-gloss paint. Let’s see how this goes.
