The Market Hall has only two floors. After shopping for souvenirs on the second floor, we went down to the ground floor to look for sausages, drink, exchange money, etc.
The main floor has all the fresh vegetables, dried mean, caviar, foie gras, wild board, duck, Hungarian sausages, fruits, etc.
This place looks like a classy palengke. Very clean, no bantot smell. The vendors look like professionals and business owners.
This stall sells a lot of paprika. Meron din kasi silang souvenirs.
Len and I bought a dozen and a half packs of paprika with tiny wooden scooper
Oeyn bought a few Hungarian sausages. Naku grabe ang amoy. Hindi mabaho pero amoy karne. Pitong plastic bags na amoy pa rin sa maleta, pati bag ko nag amoy sausage.
Some of our tour mates bought cans of foie gras. I do like goose liver, but only when I am in a fine dining restaurant. I don’t buy to cook at home. Walang ambiance. Ma-stress pa ako at baka kung anong luto ang gawin ni Antonia.
I found this violet cabbage interesting. Cabbage nga ba ito?
Tambak-tambak ang tinda nila ng oranges.
This tall has one meter high of stacked tomatoes. Ang dami. Dito sa atin, ilang piraso lang ang tinda, puro pindot pa kaya ang hirap pumili.
First time I’ve seen sangkatutak na green finger chilis.
Our tour coordinator, Cynthia Nakpil, asked me if I wanted to order Caviar. They found daw someone selling it cheap. I didn’t buy. Again, I do eat Caviar but I don’t crave for caviar. I have never bought a cna or bottle to be consumed at home. Baka ihalo pa yan ni Antonia sa adobong tilapia, ma kunsumi lang ako.
My sister enjoyed her market shopping.
On to our next culinary destination…… do you know where? NEW YORK CAFE!!!!!!!
