1. These two are very old bags. I bought the black Lancel in Galeries Lafayette, Paris 14 years ago for US$350. The Christian Dior– I bought in Galeries Lafayette but in Marseille, France for about $400 also during that same trip.

FVR was no longer president but he went to Paris upon the invitation of the business chamber there. Our delegation was headed by Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima who was then the chairman of SGV and also the president of the Philippine-French Business Council. I brought Edmund along and the two of us made a side trip to Lourdes, Barcelona and Marseille.

The Lancel’s leather is disintegrating, sira na talaga. I think from the humidity. The Dior naman, the patent leather on the handle is peeling-off.

2. I didn’t see the previous month’s Meralco bill but I paid for this month’s bill.
Edmund told me that he had it paid.
A—–“Magkano?”
E—–“Twenty plus”.
A—–“Ha? Tumaas”.

Sya na lang daw ang magbabayad so I don’t get to see the bill.

3. A lot of people– OMB readers I haven’t met, long time friends who read OMB but never told me, friends who regularly read OMB, were asking what happened to me, what was my problem about. Some were thinking my problem could be my husband. Baka siguro daw nang-chicks. He is not my problem. He’s been actually helping me handle the problem. He is not as emotional as I am, but he’s also affected. I would like to think that things are becoming clearer and it is my fervent wish that everything would turn out fine and things would go back to normal. I cling to my prayers for strength and guidance to all those concerned.

4. I had been invited to join the President’s next state visit. I filled out the forms and gave my passport for the visa requirement and submitted them last week. However, I was informed the other day that the presidential plane is already full, siguro the plane is smaller. They asked if I would make my own arrangements. Hassle kasi to take the commercial flight. I had to go through the immigration, customs, and drag my luggage. Last time, the business group chartered an Air Asia plane. Pero ganun din, we all went through the standard procedures. This time, I didn’t ask anymore who else are taking the commercial flights. Nag cancel na ako. Maybe next time na lang uli. Thank you for inviting me.

5. I went to bed at 4 am the other night kasi naki pag kwentuhan ako sa anak kong lalaki. Last night naman, I went to bed at 12:40 am with butterflies in my stomach. I woke up with the same ugly feeling. My stomach was upset and stress na agad ako.

6. There’s another lawmaker proposing to re-name NLEX as Pres. Cory Aquino Highway. We can give honor and pay our respects to past presidents in some other ways. There are many things politicians could think of to help this country or their provinces, other than renaming streets, barangays, streets, buildings.

7. I accompanied Oyen to a condo at the Fort. While she was meeting with some people, I waited for her at the small air-conditioned lobby. Maids and drivers were also sitting at the lobby. There were dozens of yayas swimming in the pool with their wards. When you share common areas with other condo owners, you cannot hang out in the lobby wearing daster because throngs of people are coming and going, taking the elevator. I don’t see myself (yet) having a condo-living lifestyle.

9. Everyday, someone comes to deliver diet food to Oyen. Naiipon lang naman sa ref. She exercises in our sala several times a week kaya her pink exercise mat is permanently displayed in the living room. exercise mat

10. For some reason, I feel Christmas is near. I haven’t even kept my Christmas balls and other decors. Or maybe I should just leave them here, ready for the next Yuletide season. Natatamad na akong iligpit ito.

11. I asked Edmund what time he left the house, 5:30 am daw. Ang aga. He joined the Shell Golf Tournament in Southwoods yesterday.

I am still feeling blue, I hope our days, months and years would always be as bright as this morning.

sun is up very early

12. I ordered additional cabinets for my son’s room. Eto it’s too high and too wide. Medyo sobra ang sukat. That’s what happens if someone who doesn’t know how a cabinet is structured and made takes the measurements. Either sobra or kulang sa allowance. Reject!

13. Rustan’s supermarket gives a stamp for every P300 worth of purchase. So far I have 55 stamps to get a free mixing bowl.

14. Qatar Airways collects foreign currency coins for donation to a good cause. I have a box full of coins from past travels, some I couldn’t identify from which country. I am going to send all these to Qatar Airways. Instead of just keeping them in my cabinet, it would have more value by donating it to charity. We cannot be hoarders.

15. Last month, I posted a photo of Coach bags I wanted to give away. Would you believe, I couldn’t find them anymore. Last time I remember, I brought the bags to the office. Nilagay ko sa van, tapos ngayon, they’ve gone missing.
