March 28, 2013 Holy Thursday

Edmund played golf in the morning. He came home at about 2 pm. When he told his friends that he had to leave because mag-bi-Visita Iglesia kami, they asked him “Bakit, Iglesia ka ba?”

His caddies also asked him the same question.

It was a hot day and we’re tired or feeling a bit lazy, so instead of the usual visits to dozen churches, we just went to the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in Antipolo, Rizal. It was difficult to navigate thru the many blocked roads leading to the church. There were many street marshalls but they forgot to put visible signs to guide motorists. They just decided to block the roads with no clear signs for alternative routes.

I read the notice too late.
028

There were vendors selling old newspapers for use as higaan for those who just walked.  Syempre super hingal at pagod, kailangan matulog.

Nyke and Tita Aileen

hi-tech lobo, P12 each
006

Included in the adventure is eating in the carinderia at the church’s ground.

043

Aileen ordered menudo. Kulang sa hotdog.
042

Sotanghon with eklok.    I really don’t like eating on plates or bowls wrapped in plastic.    In Binangonan din they do this. Siguro para they  don’t need to wash the bowls.    If I bring naman our own plates and utensils, it would beat the purpose of eating  in a carinderia.  Para naman kaming mga elitista.
046

Palagay ko mataas ang white blood cells nitong spaghetti, sobrang anemic. It needs blood transfusion.
Ketsup, ketsup nga dyan.
041

Edmund said their food don’t look appetizing. True, this ulam looks depressing.
049

I was glad they provided us with table napkins.
047

Pandakekok na Sprite.
050

After we ate, Aileen and Bong told me that they saw this tindera con chef en carinderia putting a lot of vetsin into the big pot of boiling sotanghon. Naku po! I wish I had been informed beforehand; we wouldn’t have eaten here at all.
051

A trip to Antipolo is never complete without suman P100 for 3 tali (3 pieces/tali, dati 4 pieces)
054

We bought 8 pieces. Verdict: should be re-named iced milk. There’s no buko salad, didn’t taste like buko either, except for a 1/4 inch strip of buko inside.
056

My sister, feeling nostalgic. Our parents had an ice candy factory in Binangonan when we were little.
057

Kain na naman as soon as we got home. At 12 midnight, Edmund and I were eating suman.
078

Except for a small bottle of Sprite while in Antipolo, I didn’t drink anything while we were at the Senakulo in Binangonan. I was very thirsty when we got home I drank two glasses of fresh dalandan juice.
I bought the dalandan from Farmer’s Market tila napamahal ako P40/kilo. Dapat P30 only. Pag medyo malapit ng mabulok, P20 na lang. But Edmund doesn’t like to drink it na pag lasang bulok.
