illegal settlers are back

My small project in Tagaytay is delayed because the architect and I are not on the same page. This is just two tiny basic structures measuring less than 200 square meters. Her ideas are different from what I have in mind. I did all the schematics, flat drawings, and some material and finishing specs, plus I showed her some magazines.
She said “Ang arte-arte mo, baka ma-stress lang ako sa’yo” She offered to just supervise the project.

She said she has never encountered anyone like me. Ang arte-arte ko daw (inulit na naman). She said all her clients didn’t bother checking her work. They just paid her. They let her do whatever she wants to do from the design, construction, finish, even in decorating. But that’s not the kind of person I am. Firstly, I have a ridiculously low budget. I cannot afford to have a straight contract where the cost could be double.
Secondly, I have a clear idea of how I want the building to look like.

I made a surprise visit to the site and saw smoke. Aba, merong nagsisiga.

The delay in construction gave the illegal settlers idea to move back in.

Abah, I paid them off already last year. They signed waivers na and all.

I was surprised when I inspected the site, they’re back. This time, with a sari-sari store pa.

  1. Ms. Annie, change your architect na. You will just be stressed in dealing with her. She should follow what you want and advise you only if there is something structurally wrong with what you want.
