After Ellen’s funeral, we proceeded to Kirin Chinese restaurant at Bonifacio High Street for the family lunch. Aside from us, my inlaws also invited the close relatives of Ellen to join us including her elder sister who flew in from Sacramento, Cali.
The heat continues, super grabe ang init at glary. Global warming I hate you.
The owner of Kirin also owns Coffee Bean
My mom-in-law wanted the restaurant to turn-off the glass waterfalls kasi nakakahilo, pero hindi yata pwede.
When the waiter put this down on the table, he announced “vegetarian cold cuts”, tapos merong chicken and pork.
Since I was taking pictures of the food, my sister-in-law Dra. Wilma Yee-Galope and her husband Dr. Roald Galope told me
“Siguro Annie meron kang sideline, food critique”. Kala ko sasabihin nila food photographer ako. Someone also commented, “siguro magtatayo ka Annie nang restaurant ano?” Hmmm who knows, I might, someday.
Fried pork with tons of chili. The pork was good, the chili? super anghang. There were more sliced chili peppers than the amount of pork.
Giant prawns with lemon sauce, one piece for each person.
We were expecting buchi for dessert but this came instead, called Malay cake.
I whispered to my husband “do you want me to pick up the tab?” He made kirong.
The sisters paid.
Time to go home, thank you for the delicious lunch.
