I haven’t been sleeping well in the past two weeks. There were nights I stayed awake until 6 am. My mind just keeps on wandering and wandering. I am a worrier. I worry about other people’s lives, I worry about the earth, the sea, the mountains ravaged by bushfires, the animals, mankind’s food security, etc. I worry about anything and everything. And of course my biggest worries are my children’s health and safety, our health and safety, our businesses’ health and safety.

There are lockdowns happening around the world and most recently in Metro Manila. We’ve been busy giving long distance instructions to our key people in Manila.
Our facilities are normally not highly busy with people unlike in shopping malls. It’s easier to confine movements and exercise physical distances in between people. Our showrooms and service areas remain open as usual.

Last night I was on the phone with our kumare Jocelyn Distrito, wife of Rudy. She already has airplane tickets and is excited to attend the wedding. She bought a new long sleeved dress daw. She wants to hitch a ride with someone driving from Los Angeles. I hooked her up with another kumare of mine, Letty, who will be driving from San Diego. I hope it works out.

We have a wedding happening this weekend and the number of guests have decreased by 20% mostly those coming from the Philippines. We can no longer decrease the amount of food because it’s too late to call. I am bringing cling wraps, and food trays, to-go boxes, in anticipation of having excess food. My sister, nieces, sisters in law would be more than happy to bring home those delicious food.

This wedding was planned long before the coronavirus exploded. We still feel that our risks remain low because we are in an area that is not too populated. We exercise caution by practicing more intense cleanliness and sanitation. There are two people living in the same county (province) that have coronavirus but they came from the cruise ship. We are in the same county but they are in a facility 70 miles away from us.

Every second we are tuned in to the virus updates. However, only those with the virus are reported and only those who died. Nothing is ever mentioned about the thousands of people who are well. This sow more fear and anxiety.

Despite the chaos happening around the world, we are looking forward to a wedding day filled with sunshine and happiness. The best day would be to see my daughter smiling and laughing. God bless us all.

I am barred from posting lots of photos. I will try my best to sneak out some wedding photos. ‍♀️‍♀️
