London Tube and Chinatown Dinner

I am not fond of taking the train anywhere I go. Be it in New York, San Francisco, Paris, Hongkong, saan pa ba merong train… I am referring to city trains, not speed trains. Kasi napapagod akong maglakad inside the train stations. In London, the grid is easy to understand, you could get lost but the instructions and the train routes are generally simple to comprehend. I just don’t enjoy taking the sky high escalators. Feeling ko dadaus-os ako pababa. Nalulula ako. Para akong nagkaka-vertigo.

The Uber ride to Rodney’s house was £75 but coming back to London saved us money because Rodney dropped us off at the Brent Cross train station about a half hour drive from Dunstable. The train goes direct to London and in just 15 minutes avoiding the usual London city traffic. We also saved on traveling time. The Londoners call this train the Tube.

The train looks luma but the seats are comfortable.

There were only a few passengers because it was past rush hour.

I felt comfortable and relaxed. it was more of novelty.

We went straight to Chinatown for our dinner.

Our conversation over dinner touched a little bit of politics when Edmund asked if we would be back in Manila on election day. Bong contributed by saying something about the Otso Diretso he had read on line.
We all know that Bong is a Duterte supporter however I have never heard him criticize other candidates belonging to another party.
Me——“Si Sarah Geronimo yata ginu-groom nila…” (Hello Ms. Annie Tan-Yee, OH MY BUHAY, Sara Duterte!!)
Me—–“Sa tingin ko baka hindi si Sara Geronimo..” (Ay hindi nga, bakit kaya Geronimo ako ng Geronimo..}
Bong—“Sa tingin mo hindi si Sara?”
Len—“Sino, si Poe?”
Me—-“No.”
Me—-“Tart, Lex, Lex Talionis”.

After dinner we had ube ice cream at Mamason’s, the Filipino-owned ice cream parlor.

Thistle Trafalgar has a good location— a few minutes walk to Chinatown and to Leicester Square.

Grabe dami ng turista. Edmund always says it’s not a good idea to go to places with too many people because it could be targeted.
