April 2, 2019, Tuesday
I left Manila on April 2 and after more than 14 hours of flying on a jetplane I arrived in Heathrow on the same day. Amazing ‘no? My papa used to say, when he would travel to the US from Binangonan, ” ay saan napunta yung isang araw? Katakataka”.
The walk from the PAL gate to the baggage claim area was long and lonely. Where’s my planemates? Bagal ko kasing maglakad kaya naiwan na siguro ako.

I was worried someone else could have claimed my bags because I was the last to arrive. Thanks God they were there on the carousel.
No one was around to help me retrieve my bags and to load them to my cart. It was such a struggle. I did it after several attempts, only with my left hand with the help of my knees. A lot of buntung-hininga there. Hay, I missed my in-house porter with initials ECY.
The taxi queue was very organized. It was almost 11 pm but I didn’t feel scared to take a cab. I am not new to this city and more or less I know my way around. An American guy who was behind me said that he was going to Marriot Hotel, and he insinuated that we could share a cab if my hotel was also in London. He seemed like a corporate guy, naka-suit pa. That would be big savings because Heathrow’s far but no thanks. I wanted to reach my hotel as fast as possible so I could take painkiller and ice my shoulder.
