While I was waiting for a ride, I had observed that the taxi drivers didn’t get off their taxis to help the passengers load their bags. Lucky for me, the driver left the passenger seat and helped me with my luggages. He was very talkative as most British are, he gave me a comprehensive briefing on Brexit, Margaret Thatcher, current British Prime Minister Theresa May, the Parliament, the EU, etc. He was like a political analyst. He voted for Brexit.

He helped brought down my bags but he dropped me off at a sreet corner far from my hotel. He said he couldn’t go in there. Despite this I gave him an extra 5 Pounds sterling on top of the 75 pounds charge according to the taxi meter.

Brexit briefing

Now, the challenge of pushing my things with one arm, wet pavement, baka madulas na naman ako, very cold weather and drizzling too. And oh, it was midnight and I had no idea where my hotel was. I started pushing my cart towards Leicester Square, nabuhayan ako ng loob nung nakita ko police car. The two officers were inside their parked mobile, a little hidden from view. “Officer, can you please help me find my hotel?” The officer helped me by looking at his map. He said “mam, go that way, and turn right at the next alley. It’s a short walk, your hotel is right there on your right”.
