Maid wears Oyen’s gown

While we were driving near Galleria in Ortigas  Avenue last Easter Sunday,  a car behind us started honking its horn.

car saw maid's cellular phone

I saw them roll down their window.  I thought they were looking at Robinsons Galleria.  Then the driver motioned something.  Oyen rolled down her window and the guy said there’s a cellphone on our trunk.   When I looked,  I saw a white cellular phone.  I got off the car and took it.

Maid's cell phone on the trunk

It belongs to one of our maids.

My phone

We thought that was very funny.  Good it didn’t fall off.  Good, the beggars and street vendors didn’t see it.

I handed-over the phone to Oyen.

After a few minutes:

Oyen————– “Mom, is this my dress?”

Me—————- “Yes,  it looks like it”.

Oyen————- “I know, right?”

(o- oh It’s not funny.)

Me————— “But it has straps”.

Oyen————- “That’s from her bra”.

Me————– “Ay, oo nga”.

Me————— “She’s wearing your dress.  I thought you lock your bathroom”.

Oyen————- “It’s in my room, because I have no more closet space.   I’ve worn it once, at the fashion show”.

Me————— “Kunsumisyon”

This white gown was made by fashion designer Goulee Gorospe for Oyen. She was one of the models at his fashion show held at the ballroom of New World Hotel a few years ago.

While we were in the church, the cook kept calling the number, panicking over the lost of the phone. Oyen answered and told her that it’s with her.
When we got home, They were very quiet, nakikiramdam.

I left the phone at 11 pm on the kitchen counter in the auxiliary kitchen.

We didn’t say anything for 2 days until a few hours ago.

A————– “Jen, huwag nyong papakialaman ang mga gamit namin”.

A————— “Gown ni mam Julienne yun, sa kwarto nya…”
She was insisting hindi daw yun.

She denied ever wearing it. That’s a different dress daw and the photos were taken at her tita’s house (DAW).

A————— “Di mabuti kung hindi, basta huwag nyong pakikialaman ang mga gamit namin”.

Sana she just kept quiet as an admittance of guilt, or just replied “sorry mam, hindi na mauulit”.

Be the judge:

Standing near two doors, one is open.

Door to Oyen’s room, other door is to her bathroom.

Sitting at her sofa. She rolled-up the roman shade.
Do you see the giant orange flower? Edmund, Nyke and I bought those from a grocery in New York on her graduation day.

So her tita bought their sofa bed from Ethan Allen too.

Go back to photo #1 and notice the bookshelves. I wonder if her tita was also given a big discount by Ethan Allen.

Question: Who’s taking the pictures? Her BFF Nonie, our cook.

  1. hi Ms. A maybe the doors should be installed with deadbolt locks or locks na digital or the ones that require fingerprint… pwedeng i-lock pag wala sa bahay. jewelries, money, make up, electronics, perfume, damit at kung ano ano pa ay pwede talagang ma “thank you”. it’s very tempting for maids

    1. oh I’m sorry, i thought walang locks ang doors, meron pala nasa photo. siguro ho doors should be locked pag wala sa bahay

      1. Hi Jodie,
Her room key didn’t want to function, nasira. Will replace it soonest so she could lock it.
        thank you for your suggestion.

  2. ms annie, i think you should think twice about your maid.. if you cannot trust her with simple things, like, umamin for what she did, paano mo pa sya mapagkakatiwalaan sa mas mahalagang bagay? although i know talagang mahirap mag hanap ng maids ngayon 🙁 cctv naman would invade the privacy of your daughter while she’s in her room (e private space nga nya yun) but then again pwede naman siguro switch on the cctv lang pag wala kayo lahat sa bahay so you would see what’s happening when you’re out. just my two-cents worth. have a good day!

  3. Having a CCTV in your own bedroom? It’s really sad when you can’t be safe and comfortable in your own home.

  4. This reminds me of my friend’s maid who used her hair iron, ate her special longganisa and lapu-lapu (leaving her the tail and head only) for merienda, and slept in her bed when she is out of town. And these are only the things that she was caught in the act with. Pinaalis na rin nya eventually. Which brings me to think which is the lesser of two evils — the one na hindi marunong magtrabaho pero mapagkakatiwalaan or mahusay sa trabaho pero ganyan?

  5. Ms. Annie they have CCTV camera now na connected sa wifi they can also hear the sounds, one of my friend used also the CCTV just to watch for her daughter pag nasa office sya kasi she felt na di naalagaan ng yaya. She can even navigate the CCTV using her phone. She got it in Dubai duty free i don’t know the brand but the good thing is its only oyen who can navigate the camera using her own phone. She can turn it off is she’s at home. Almost 100 USD ata ung price not sure.

  6. Ms. A, may kasama iyong maid and took photos of her… it’s sad. I myself would feel violated. kwarto ko at damit ko wag talagang pakialaman lalo pa’t walang paalam. Pero pag wala naman nawala, bigyan ng second chance… Ako man noong maliit pa, nako pasok ako sa kwarto ng ate ko at paki alaman ang mga gamit, para akong nasa park. sana di na maulit pa.

  7. Sad. Just fire her. Hindi mo pa pinagalitan kaya aakalain niyang nakalusot siya, so uulitin niya yan. The next time baka hindi lang yan ang isuot niya. If she can lie to your face about that, with no remorse whatsoever, she is not worth the good employment that you give her. Just my personal opinion.

  8. Hi Ms Annie! Our home should be our nest, the safest of all places. Yes, the cctv idea maybe be good, and only turned on when you leave the house. But is it still comforting to think why you still have to do that in the first place? Its like keeping your eyes open while you sleep. Simply because you cant trust these housemaids anymore! It may be difficult to look for a new maid to replace her, but i guess keeping her with you may even be more bothersome. Worse, she even denied it! You and Oyen are still very nice to have kept your composure 🙂 The invasion of privacy. A maid na ambisyosa. Plus the ‘partner in crime’ pa who took the photos. Having the best time of their lives at home while the ‘Amos’ are away, imbes na dapat doing their chores. Gosh, all those are bull****! They should actually be very thankful you are sooo mabait pa! Whew! Just sharing my thoughts…. All the best!

  9. We are all helpless against kasambahays who ransack our homes with pay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
